The body of a teenage girl was found by divers in the Thames river late last night. The seventeen year old is believed to have committed suicide after the tragic death of her father.
Felicity Hargreaves, adopted daughter of Chief Inspector Gregory Lestrade of New Scotland Yard, who’s death we reported earlier this week; fell to her death from London Bridge in the early hours of this morning, it is to be believed. The teen, who attended the highly prestigious London Park Secondary School was well known for her intelligence and kindness.
“I can’t believe she’s gone. She was such a lovely girl. A highly able pupil, who was the foundation of the running team.” Says Janet Montgomery, headmistress of the secondary school.
However, on further inspection, it would appear that the teen’s life was far from happy. Social worker Alyssa Donovan has this to say; “It was only a matter of time. Felicity has a troubled past and is well known amongst our staff. She has a chaotic past with anorexia and self harm, and her biological parents were well known drug addicts. It’s no shock to us that the death of her adoptive father pushed her over the edge.”
The inquest continues.
“I’ll see you in a little while,” she murmured, holding Melissa close. The poor girl had barely let go of Felicity since the death of their father. It wasn’t a big surprise. Fliss was more worried about Evan, who had holed himself up in his room. Sighing silently, she let her younger sister go, and dropped a kiss onto her blonde curls.
“Be good for your brother. I won’t be long. I love you.”
It was remarkably easy to pretend everything was okay. After all, wasn’t that what she was used to? She had left a letter in her room, explaining everything. It was tucked up within her art things, somewhere the children wouldn’t find it.
Jogging to a bar, she had a few final drinks, something to steel her wool, and give her the courage she needed. A few drinks, a few cigarettes. She was ready for anything now. Jogging the rest of the way to London Bridge, she peered over the edge. It was now or never.
Carefully, painstakingly, she climbed over the barrier, glad of the darkness of winter that kept her hidden. Crossing her arms, Felicity looked up at the sky.
“I love you,” she whispered, before letting herself fall into the cold, murky water of the Thames.
